Two similar UFO sightings in England, UK

Posted in Sightings on August 14th, 2009 by Carol – Be the first to comment

Two very similar UFO sightings have been reported in the UK.  The first, in Colne, was described as an “orange light” with no noise and was witnessed on Saturday 8th August.  You can watch a video and read eye witness comments here.

The second sighting was over Ipswitch and was also described as an “orange light”.  One witness claims to have seen the UFO initially six weeks ago and has seen it several times since then.  More details on the Evening Star website.

UFO Footage in Columbia - real or hoax?

Posted in Sightings on August 12th, 2009 by Carol – Be the first to comment

Just came across this on You Tube - it’s an amateur video of a UFO seen in Columbia:

I’d love to believe it but it looks almost TOO good!  I’m used to UFO footage being fuzzy and unconvincing  :)

UFO on BBC webcam?

Posted in Sightings on August 7th, 2009 by Carol – Be the first to comment

An unidentified flying object was captured on a BBC webcam during a live news broadcast.  The video, shown here, is accompied by “Is it a bird? Is it a plane? An unidentified flying object is spotted by a BBC Look North webcam.”.

Think they might have been right the first time, as it does look like a bird to me!  Any thoughts?

MOD refuses to investigate UFO sighting

Posted in Sightings on August 5th, 2009 by Carol – Be the first to comment

On 22nd July, retired school teacher John Powell photographed an RAF Hercules coming in to land.  The plane itself was not the target of his photograph though, rather it was the metallic grey object apparently following it.

The Ministry of Defence has stated that it will NOT investigate the UFO sighting, insisting that air space has “not been comprised”.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, we can now request copies of official documentation regarding any UFO sighting, so it will be interesting to see exactly why this one isn’t going to be investigated!

Watching ‘ghost’ videos on YouTube etc.

Posted in Sightings on March 7th, 2009 by Carol – Be the first to comment

I love watching videos of supposed ghosts, EVPs etc. on the internet but I’m MASSIVELY sceptical …. and this one is a reminder of WHY I’m so sceptical!

Supposed poltergeist activity video on Para-Tube.com.

The above video is labelled as a ‘University Research Video’.  In reality, it’ s a clip from Ghostwatch, a BBC “mockumentary” shown in 1992.   This serves as a reminder that you generally CAN’T verify the sources of any videos or audio clips you see online!  It’s also not as hard as you might think to edit a video clip, add in some bumps and shadows, etc.

By sheer coincidence, I’m actually attending a lecture on 4th April from the writer of Ghostwatch so I’ll report back afterwards!
